Lachin mission of Supreme Commander-in-Chief-ANALYSIS

Today is a very significant day in live of people and state of Azerbaijan, as well as lives of all world Azerbaijanis. City of Lachin, villages of Zabukh and Sus have passed under control of Azerbaijan today, our Army has stationed in the city of Lachin, tricolor national flag of Azerbaijan has been raised in center of the city of Lachin.

Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has given the good news via his Twitter account traditionally as during the 44-day Patriotic War.

Passing the city of Lachin under the control of Azerbaijan, return of Azerbaijanis to the city of Lachin, villages of Zabukh and Sus are not elementary events. Azerbaijan's control on liberated from occupation territories has been completed with it, control on the latest district center has been restored. It has very great importance.

Lachin's passing under full control of Azerbaijan also means loss of the latest hipe for revanchists in Armenia and separatist forces in the territories of Karabakh under temporary control of Russian peacekeepers. It should be taken into consideration that creation of a corridor to Karabakh with occupation of Lachin played a great role in realization of subsequent occupation policy of Armenians. The corridor allowed delivery of units of occupying army, carriage of weapons and equipment to Karabakh, occupation of our other districts. Conduction of illegal settlement policy in Lachin during occupation period, transfer of Armenians from Syria and Lebanon to the city of Lachin, Zabukh also show how Armenia and Armenian diaspora attached importance to maintenance of the corridor. It is also known Armenian diaspora has allocated special finance for building of houses, establishment of infrastructure for the Armenians, who illegally settled in Zabukh. It is also not a coincidence that Armenia had to agree to sign the act of capitulation immediately after the closure of Lachin-Shusha highway-Lachin corridor with liberation of Shusha from occupation during the Patriotic War.

By the way, during even the Soviet period, Armenia seriously tried to cancel the status of Lachin region and merge it into the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast. Because for Armenia, Lachin is the gate of Karabakh, and they realized that if this gate is closed, the chance of their claims being realized is zero. In this regard, during the First Karabakh War, the lack of reliable organization of the defense of Shusha and Lachin, the mistakes made, and sometimes betrayals gave the Armenians the opportunity to create the corridor they had been dreaming of for decades. It was with the occupation of Lachin that a direct connection was established between Karabakh and Armenia. It meant that at the next stage, the plans for the legal integration of the mountainous part of Karabakh with Armenia would be launched. However, the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev prevented it, and the transfer of Lachin under Azerbaijan's control today put an end to the insidious plans.

Result of wise policy

Provision of control on Lachin is also a result of far-sighted, wise policy. It was noted in the Statement dated November 10, 2020, that a new road passing by the city of Lachin will be established, planning and agreement of the road should be provided within three years. The clause was included in the Statement, which is considered an act of capitulation for Armenia in the negotiations with mediation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the insistence of namely President Ilham Aliyev. In accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan ensured construction of this new road in a shorter period. In other words immediately after the Second Karabakh war, negotiations with the Russian side regarding the route of the new 32 km long road were started and the route was agreed upon, as a result of which the Azerbaijani Army entered the city of Lachin today.

Mr. Ilham Aliyev predicted in advance that the Armenian authorities, realizing that Lachin, which is considered the gate of Karabakh, will put an end to revanchist plans and the dream of Armenian separatism in Karabakh, will try to prolong the process.

So, determined and rational policy of President Ilham Aliyev, destroyed this hope of Armenia, too. In his interview with AzTV, on August 12, the head of the state lent clarity to Armenia’s attempts in this regard, and how these attempts would be prevented. Azerbaijan also positively approached to the appeals of its own citizens, living in Karabakh and it also built a 4.8-kilometer dirt road to the point where it will be connected to the Armenian border.
After all of these, Armenia had no other way out except to evict the Armenians illegally settled in Lachin city, Zabukh and Sus villages and submit to the demands of Azerbaijan.

Vitality, correctness of President Ilham Aliyev’s philosophy of “what, how and when to do” was once again confirmed. Masterfully managing the process, the head of the state successfully restores Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, soverignity over all its territory within the framework of trilateral statement and international rules. The Azerbaijani state makes it clear to those who do not come to terms with capitulation and defeat, on the political and, if necessary, on the military front, that no one and nothing can prevent it from achieving its goals. Let's remind at this moment early commissioning alternative road to Lacin corridor, Azerbaijan had given Armenians until August 25 to leave the territories where they were illegally settled for 30 years. Despite of unreasonable protest of Armenia, its patrons, revanchists, separatists, thanks to determination of Azerbaijani state and President, again happened what we want. So, if the occupation of Azerbaijani lands started namely from Shusha and Lachin, the liberation of Shusha in the Patriotic war lead to Armenia’s caputilation, while, the transfer of Lachin to full control of Azerbaijan lead to full restoration poof our soverignity over our territories. If the occupation of Lachin and Shusha was a big wound in our hearts, the liberation of Shusha demonstrated to the whole world the invincibility of the Azerbaijani Army led by Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, that our nation is a victorious nation, and today, the transfer of Lachin to our full control showed to the whole world that Azerbaijan will not give up its sovereign rights over its territories under any circumstances.
