Near the end of competitions, serious health issues have occupied the agenda at the Paris-2024 Olympic Games, APA reports.
The Paris 2024 Olympics, the first Olympics after the coronavirus pandemic, wasn't able to avoid the effects of the virus.
Unlike the postponed Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics held in Beijing, there have been no serious COVID-19 restrictions in Paris.
However, the number of virus cases continues to rise daily in the Olympic Village in Paris.
Thus, over 40 athletes competing in the Olympics, representing various countries, have tested positive for COVID-19.
Are there any Azerbaijani athletes who have been infected with the coronavirus?
In response to APA's inquiry, the National Olympic Committee has stated that none of the Azerbaijani athletes participating in Paris 2024 have contracted COVID-19, and their health conditions are normal.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports also confirmed in response to APA's query that there have been no cases of infection within the team and that everything is proceeding according to the Olympic program.
Note that the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported cases of COVID-19 among athletes in Paris 2024.
The Paris Summer Olympics will conclude on August 11.
