Fines have been established for violations of requirements related to the operation of age-restricted social media platforms, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new Article 388-4 added to the Code of Administrative Offenses under the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on the implementation of the law.
According to the law, failure to submit the information specified in the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information" to the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority, violation of the deadline for submitting such information, or submission of incomplete or distorted information shall result in a fine ranging from 6,000 manats to 7,000 manats for officials and from 15,000 manats to 20,000 manats for legal entities.
In addition, failure by the provider of an age-restricted social media platform to respond within five working days to inquiries sent by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority, or the submission of incomplete or distorted information, shall result in a fine ranging from 7,000 manats to 8,000 manats for officials and from 25,000 manats to 30,000 manats for legal entities.
Violations of requirements related to the safe use of age-restricted social media platforms shall result in a fine ranging from 8,000 manats to 9,000 manats for officials and from 35,000 manats to 40,000 manats for legal entities.
If the specified offenses are committed repeatedly within one year from the date the decision imposing an administrative penalty enters into force, officials shall be fined from 9,000 manats to 10,000 manats, while legal entities shall be fined from 45,000 manats to 50,000 manats.
The law will enter into force in twelve months.
