Talks between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz have entered a new phase despite attempts by the United States to obstruct them, a senior Iranian official said in an interview with state television, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
According to him, the continuation of the talks demonstrates Iran's commitment to diplomatic engagement and its determination to protect its rights.
The Iranian official noted that, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding, Tehran has actively fulfilled its obligations in coordination with Oman and the countries of the region.
He added that if the United States refrains from interference, it is possible for Iran and Oman to reach an agreement on the Strait of Hormuz.
The senior Iranian official said the talks are aimed at creating a new corridor that will ensure the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
