US forces have facilitated the safe passage of more than 1,000 vessels through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three months, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement.
"Over the past three months, US forces have successfully assisted more than 1,000 vessels in transiting the Strait of Hormuz," CENTCOM said.
The statement comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts to restore normal commercial shipping through the strategic waterway following heightened regional tensions.
On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said negotiations with Iran on restoring normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz had made progress, although no final agreement has yet been reached.
