Employees of most Azerbaijani media outlets have not gone on leave - <font color=red>POLL</font>

Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. In summer a number of organizations go on leave or shorten working regime. Such a tradition has not been completely formed in media yet. Recently some media outlets give their employees leave. APA conducted a poll among printed media.

APA’s editor Mahbuba Gasimbayli said the agency’s employees go on leave in shifts.
“The agency has not changed its working regime in connection with summer. In general, break in the working regime in connection with summer is not often met in the world practice. Our employees go on leave once a year. Of course, the majority wants to go on leave in summer. It is realized by taking into consideration the employees’ wish and in shifts in order not to impede the work,” she said.

The editor said the agency gives its employees 21-day paid leave.

Media forum portal has stopped its work for 21 days. The employees of the portal went on leave on August 3. Within this period the portal is not updated.

Editor of musavat.com and correspondent of Yeni Musavat newspaper Khalid Kazimli says that the employees of the newspaper and portal rest in shifts.

Editor of Ekspress newspaper Galib Ibrahimoglu said the newspaper will not announce vacation.
“The employees may have a rest if they want. We announced it. But no one has gone on leave, all are at work,” he said.

First deputy director general of Ses information agency Elshad Hajiyev said the agency offered opportunities for the employees to rest. They go on leave in shifts.
“The employees go on leave in shifts. Some of them are on leave now. It is a paid leave,” he said.

Director of the Azadlig newspaper Azer Ahmadov said they will not go on leave.
“Azadlig newspaper is published for 20 years and there has not been any vacation during this time. We have few employees. But when someone goes on a short leave, another correspondent controls the sphere that he is responsible for,” he said.

Editor-in-chief of Baki-Xeber newspaper Aydin Guliyev said in connection with summer they switched to five-day working regime.
“The newspaper is published five times a week. No vacation will be announced. When a newspaper stops its activity, it loses its readers and it takes time to regain the readers,” he said.

Director General of Olaylar information agency Yunus Oguz said they go on leave every summer. Vacation was announced from July 23 till August 3 this year.
“The work was completely stopped. We go on leave twice a year,” he said.
Yunus Oguz said the vacation does not influence the salaries.

The employees of lent.az portal also go on leave. Editor-in-chief of the portal Gabil Abbasoglu said as the staff is small, they go on leave in shifts. The editor-in-chief said the employees go on 21-day paid leave.

The employees of Yeni Azerbaijan newspaper also go on leave in shifts. Editor-in-chief of the newspaper Hikmat Babaoglu told APA:
“We try to realize the process so that it does not influence the working regime.”

Editor-in-chief of Bizim yol newspaper Baheddin Haziyev said he gives a week leave to the employees in shifts.
“A part of the employees are on leave now,” he said.
