We are working on a hotel project in Baku that combines historical heritage with modern architecture, said Turkish architect Sinan Kafadar, founder of the “Metex Mimarlık” company, during the “Invision Design Talks 2” forum, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the architectural bureau he leads is currently working on the “Canopy by Hilton Baku” hotel project located in Baku’s Sabail district.
Sinan Kafadar said that within the framework of the project, two historically significant buildings located on the site are being preserved, while a new structure is being built between them. The project also envisages an inner courtyard, a winter garden, preservation of green spaces, and a panoramic view opening onto the Caspian Sea.
The architect emphasized that the main idea of the project is to reflect the symbolic elements of Baku — water and fire motifs — in the architecture and interior design.
According to him, the interior concept incorporates elements of Azerbaijani carpet art, national ornaments, and local cultural motifs.
The architect added that every architectural project should tell its own story, and the “Canopy by Hilton Baku” project also aims to combine Baku’s historical heritage with modern architecture.
Note that the “Invision Design Talks 2” forum was organized through the cooperation of Seranit Azerbaijan and “Sinerji Pro.” The forum is being held with the media support of the APA News Agency.
