In accordance with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s instruction, one of the important road infrastructure projects implemented in the territory of Garabagh and Eastern Zangazur economic districts is the 75.8-kilometer Kalbajar-Lachin highway. Currently, the construction of the road and tunnels on the road is underway, APA-Economics reports citing State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads.
Excavation and filling works are being carried out, a new soil deposit is being built. In addition, construction of rectangular and circular water pipes, as well as water channels, drainage works and the construction of a stone wall are underway. Construction works in 10 out of the 17 car tunnels which are planned to construct along the road, are successfully undergoing.
