Modern trains consisting of sleeper-type carriages of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC will operate on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, head of the public relations department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, said, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, passengers on the trains will be provided services in three classes: comfort, comfort+ and luxury:
“The train consists of 6 carriages, including 1 ‘Luxury’ class carriage, 1 mixed ‘Luxury’ and ‘Comfort+’ class carriage, 3 ‘Comfort’ class carriages and 1 restaurant carriage, with a total passenger capacity of 118 people. In the ‘Comfort’ class carriage, 1 compartment is designated for passengers with limited mobility. In addition, in the mixed ‘Luxury’ and ‘Comfort+’ class carriage, compartments are separated by a special partition. During family and group trips, this partition can be opened upon request and converted into a single compartment,” he noted.
Bakhtiyar Hajiyev also emphasized that the carriages manufactured by Switzerland’s “Stadler Rail Group” are equipped with next-generation safety technologies and several innovative mechanisms:
“Compartments in the luxury class are designed for two people and each is equipped with a table, television, shower cabin and sanitary unit. At the same time, compartments in the comfort+ class are designed for two people, and each compartment is equipped with a television, table and washbasin. Compartments in the comfort class are designed for four people and each has a television.
In Comfort and Comfort+ carriages, there are shared shower cabins and sanitary units for passengers, while in luxury carriages each compartment has a separate shower cabin and sanitary unit.
The compartments are equipped with individually adjustable temperature and lighting systems, a button for contacting the attendant, and sound insulation. There is also a safe operating with a card system for personal belongings, electrical outlets, internet, TV monitors offering content in four languages, remote controls and headphone sockets.
Passengers will be provided with clean bed linen and a travel package (for comfort class: wet and dry wipes, dental kit (toothpaste and toothbrush), hand towel, bed linen, water, slippers; for comfort+ class: wet and dry wipes, sleep mask, dental kit (toothpaste and toothbrush), hand towel, bed linen, water, slippers, shoehorn; for luxury class: wet and dry wipes, sleep mask, dental kit, hygiene kit, shoehorn, water, slippers, shampoo, shower gel, hand and body towel, bed linen),” he noted.
