“Baku Metro” CJSC is being reorganized through the merger of “BakuBus” LLC and “Baku Taxi Service” LLC into its structure under the decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 7, 2026, the company told “APA-Economics”.
It was noted that the adopted decision is aimed at improving the organization of management in the field of public transport, strengthening the mutual integration of services, and ensuring more efficient urban mobility.
According to the information, within the framework of the reorganization process, phased measures are envisaged for the implementation of a unified and coordinated management model in the public transport system, improving service quality, expanding digital solutions, and further increasing passenger comfort.
“At the same time, it is planned to further strengthen integration between metro, bus, tram, and taxi services, develop public transport infrastructure in line with modern requirements, increase safety and efficiency in passenger transportation services, as well as ensure more convenient and efficient urban movement.
It should be noted that within the framework of the reorganization process, continuity of services provided to passengers will be ensured, and operations on existing routes and services will continue.
The company’s new charter and structure will be approved by the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON) in agreement with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan within three months,” the statement said.
