Azerbaijan is considering sending a mission to the Moon and Mars in 2030, Samaddin Asadov, chairman of the management board of "Azerkosmos" CJSC, said this during his speech at the 74th International Astronautical Congress held in Baku, APA reports.
According to him, Azerbaijan has invested 600 million dollars in space in the last 10 years.
The chairman noted that along with the agreement signed today with Israel on launching a space satellite into orbit, the government of Azerbaijan will continue the space program.
"In the future, we are thinking of launching a telecommunication satellite to expand the service sphere in the region. We will think about sending a mission to the Moon and Mars in 2030," Samaddin Asadov stressed.
