A meeting was held today in the Iranian city of Bileh Savar between the delegations led by Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee, Colonel General of the Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, and Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration Foroud Asgari, the State Customs Committee told APA-Economics.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on synchronizing the clearance of vehicles at border crossing points based on practical cooperation opportunities, implementing electronic data exchange, improving operational efficiency, and coordinating the further development of cooperation.
The parties also discussed transit procedures, including supporting traffic flow to ensure the rapid passage of freight vehicles traveling from Azerbaijan through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and in the opposite direction, and identified the relevant areas of cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the protocol of the meeting was signed.
Following the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation familiarized itself with the activities of the Bileh Savar customs post in the Islamic Republic of Iran, while the Iranian delegation visited the Bileh Savar state border checkpoint of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
