Azerbaijan aims to expand cooperation with US companies in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said at a briefing dedicated to the results of the first Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue held in Baku, APA reports.
According to him, President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with the CEO of Oracle Corporation in February, and as a result of those discussions, the process of preparing a memorandum of understanding reflecting joint opportunities in artificial intelligence and other technological areas was launched.
The minister noted that SOCAR also signed a partnership agreement yesterday with another US corporation operating in this field. At the same time, he stressed that cooperation is not limited to existing projects.
“This is not only about specific projects. It covers a broad spectrum ranging from the regulatory environment to the areas of technology implementation,” he said.
According to Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan intends to build an innovation ecosystem in the country by cooperating with leading US technology companies and hyperscaler platforms at a time when technological development is advancing rapidly.
He added that Azerbaijani state institutions and the private sector are currently holding talks with major US technology and cloud service companies, and the details of the projects will be made public once finalized.
“Our main goal is to become one of the advanced users of new technologies and gain access to these technologies for economic and social development,” he said.
