Aframax type "Karabakh" tanker was put into operation

The next Aframax type tanker purchased by "SA Maritime AFEZCO" Joint Venture established on a parity basis with the approval of the Supervisory Board of "Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company" CJSC (ASCO) and State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has been put into operation, ASCO told APA-Economics.

On the order of President Ilham Aliyev, the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan was raised on the ship named "Karabagh" to the sounds of the National Anthem.

Like other Aframax type tankers that will sail under the Azerbaijani flag in non-Caspian waters, the deadweight (total carrying capacity) of "Karabakh" is about 115,000 tons.

The ship will be managed by ASCO Ship Management AFEZCO, a 100% subsidiary of ASCO, registered in Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ).

Note that three Aframax type tankers were initially purchased as a result of market research by "SA Maritime AFEZCO" Joint Venture. The first of them - the "Shusha" ship - was commissioned on June 15 - Independence Day. The work on the commissioning of the third ship - "Zangazur" is already nearing completion.
