Minister Ziya Mammadov: Global financial crisis will not affect the implementation of transport projects in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. The world financial crisis will not affect the implementation of transport projects in Azerbaijan, said the country’s Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov.
According to him, the ongoing projects such as overpasses, bridges, highways are planned for completion in 2010-2011 through funding from the state budget.
The Minister also said that discussions on the establishment of North-South international transport corridor linking Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan will start construction of 8-kilometer line in its territory after the Iranian side completes the construction of the railway to Astara (Iran).
