Railroad Day marked in Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan State Railways Company (ADDY) is celebrating the Railroaders Day on October 13.
Gurban Nazirov, Chief Engineer of the Company, said 21 million tons of freight and 4.5 million passengers were transported by rail in the country during January-September.
13 million tons of goods, including 8.5 tons of oil cargo were loaded at stations.
According to him, 42km railway is repaired during nine months.
The forecast for cargo transportation is 30 million tons and the prediction for passenger carrying is 5 million for this year.
He also underlined achievements in international transportation and implementation of major projects, like Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and North-South Projects.
Established in 1880, Azerbaijan State Railways Company operates 171 stations across the country.
