BMW Concept X1 unveiled in Paris

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. This yearâ€™s Paris motor show celebrates the world debut of a concept BMW X model, for the first time in the premium compact segment.
The BMW Concept X1 marks the expansion of the range of BMW X models, from the founder of the Sports Activity Vehicle segment.
At 4457mm, the Concept X1 is not only 112mm shorter than the companyâ€™s X3 mid-size 4WD but also smaller than compact 4WDs such as the Subaru Forester and Honda CR-V.
A 2760mm wheelbase, though, is relatively long - just 35mm shorter than the X3â€™s, which should provide the X1 with a spacious cabin.
The X1 also follows the new 7-Series with an enlarged version of BMWâ€™s signature kidney grille, while the rear features L-shaped headlights that echo those on the recently facelifted 3-Series.
BMW has revealed few technical details for the X1, though it will feature the companyâ€™s xDrive four-wheel-drive system and be offered with a range of four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
The X1 engine range is expected to at least comprise a 125kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol, 130kW 2.0-litre four diesel, 200kW 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol, and 180kW 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel.
BMW says the X1 is designed for customers who need a vehicle that can tackle rush hour as well as active weekends.
