Azerbaijan bans allocation of land in the upper and lower reaches of the rivers for excavation work

Baku. Ilham Isabalayeva - APA-Economics. The Cabinet of Azerbaijan has passed a decision to strengthen the protection of main pipelines, bridges, hydraulic engineering constructions and overhead high-voltage power lines.
The allocation of land plots located in 500 meters far from upper and lower reaches of the rivers for excavation work, minerals extraction and explosions, the granting of licenses and permits by the local authorities were banned under the decision in order to ensure the reliable and safe operation of main pipelines, bridges, hydraulic engineering constructions and overhead high-voltage power lines. Besides, there will be 3km advisory area for the upper and lower reaches of the rivers.
