CATEL/FONEX and all GSM operatorsâ€™ subscribers can easily exchange SMS now

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s first CDMA operator CATEL and its trade mark FONEXâ€™s subscribers can now exchange SMS with all GSM operatorsâ€™ subscribers. For this CATEL/FONEX subscribers must enter 050/051, 055 or 070 operator code and seven-digit subscriber number, but GSM operatorsâ€™ subscribers 040/012 operator code and seven-digit subscriber number to message cell, write short message and send it. For CATEL/FONEX subscribers one SMS costs 0,05 AZN (VAT included).
Innovations of CATEL are not limited to this. Now Jalilabad is also in the coverage area of the operator, as well as, all Absheron peninsula, Baku, Sumgayit, Sangachal, Alat, Kurdamir, Udjar, Shirvan, Goychay, Mingechevir, Gandja, Shamkir, Agstafa, Balakan, Devechi, Nabran, Khudat, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Lenkaran, Astara and Masalli. The Company continuous its works in covering all Azerbaijanâ€™s territory.
It is important to note, that CATEL company which was established in 1997, offers wireless connection services to WLL telephone subscribers in FH-CDMA standards, also services to mobile connection subscribers in CDMA standards. Since August 2004, for the first time in Azerbaijan, the company has started to apply technology of CDMA 2000 1x service based on the equipment of the Huawei company. This technology has several advantages compared to 2G mobile service standards: ecological safety, big network capacity, high speed data transmission, data and digital fax support etc.
