Russiaâ€™s TransTeleCom boosts internet channel for Azerbaijanâ€™s Delta Telecom

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva - APA-ECONOMICS. Russian wholesale carrier TransTeleCom has widened the Internet access channel for Azerbaijan-based Delta Telecom to 2,5 Gbps.

Besides, work on the establishment of an inter-network connection through DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) is on track of completion.

Since August 2008, TransTeleCom launched IP-Access service at Samur-Yalama on the Russian-Azerbaijani border.

TransTeleCom is Russiasâ€™s leading nation-wide backbone telecoms operator and a dynamically growing business, one which consistently extends its range of innovative communications services to efficiently meet the increasing needs of the market.

It operates and services the largest fiber-optic communication network in Russia, with a length of more than 53,000 km and a network capacity of 50 Gbps. The network has more than 1,000 access nodes in all regions of Russia and connects Europe and Asia.

Under a contract won from Delta Telecom, Alcatel-Lucent is deploying Azerbaijanâ€™s first commercial WiMAX 802.16e-2005 (Rev-e) network.
