Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-ECONOMICS. SOCAR Georgia Gas, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), plans to install gas service for about 57 000 new customers in Azeri-populated regions of Georgia by early 2010.

According to the policy, gas supply will be provided to nearly 10 000 customers in Marneuli, 7 000 in Gardabani, 5 000 in Bolnisi and 5 000 in Dmanisi.

Last year SOCAR Georgia Gas won a tender from the Georgian Ministry of Economic Development to privatize the gas distribution firms.

Under the terms of the tender, SOCAR Georgia Gas shall, within 3 years, provide gas supply to 30 cities and districts (more than 150 000 customers), and invest at least $ 40 million.
