Azerbaijan to attend ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009 exhibition-conference

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva â€“ APA-Economics. ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009 exhibition-conference will take place in Geneva on October 5-9, 2009, an international specialized event for the global telecommunication and information communication technology (ICT) sector.
Delegation of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology will represent Azerbaijan at the event, the ministry officials told APA-Economics.
The exhibition-conference is every three years and last exhibition took place in Hong Kong in 2006. This year the event will be held under the motto â€œOpen networks connected mindsâ€. Latest innovations in ICT: from broadband or IP-enabled services, to mobile and wireless technologies, next-generation networks, satellites and much more, spanning the full reach of the ICT industry will be displayed at the exhibition. The participant companies will have an opportunity to establish their headquarters in the ITU TELECOM Village business center. The event also features the Youth Forum, which will bring together the young people.
This year it will use the experience of thematic pavilions, including e-health, online education and training, mobile communication and banking operations. Some organizations expressed their intentions to organize national pavilions.
700 participants from 45 countries, 45 000 professional participants from 140 countries, 1000 VIP-participants (ministers, ministry officials, regulation organizations, ambassadors, chief executives) from 150 countries expected to show interest.
