Azerbaijan offers NATO all its facilities in the Caspian Sea for Afghanistan cargo shipment

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan has offered all its facilities in the Caspian Sea for cargo shipment from Europe to Afghanistan, said a source at the State Maritime Administration who wanted to remain anonymous.

According to him, Azerbaijan is planning to take some measures including purchase of new dry cargo vessels and ferries, timely delivery of cargo to its destination, protection of cargo at ports and in transit and so on to pave the way for safe transportation of goods.

So far, several NATO humanitarian goods have already been shipped to Kazakhstan through Azerbaijan.

â€œNegotiations are under way to increase the flow of goods to Central Asia, onward to Afghanistan through Azerbaijan. In this regard, Azerbaijan plans to purchase several ferries this year,â€ said the source.
