Sony Ericsson and Playfon launches PlayNowâ„¢ in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan

Baku. Aynur VÉ™liyeva â€“ APA-Economics. ony Ericsson Mobile Communication, one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world, and Playfon, an international multimedia entertainment company, have announced the launch of popular download service PlayNowâ„¢ in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

PlayNowâ„¢, Sony Ericssonâ€™s browser-based download service, was introduced in February 2004 as the easiest way for owners of Sony Ericsson phones to listen to and directly purchase ringtones. Since then the development of content service became one of key elements of the Sony Ericsson service strategy.

Expanding the PlayNowâ„¢ including the launch of the service in CIS countries represents an exciting step forward for implementation of this strategy. It enables to provide Sony Ericssonâ€™s consumers in this region with the instant access to the large multimedia catalogue from the major international labels worldwide.

From now PlayNowâ„¢ provides end-users in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan with a greatly expanded range of premium content including music tracks, games, MP3 ring tones, themes and wall papers. Thereâ€™s free content up for grabs as well.

According to the experts, PlayNowâ„¢ has good growth potential in these countries. It is expected that the transaction number could be comparable with the Ukrainian level already after few months.
