Azerfon buys new roaming subsystem from Russia

Roaming fraud is a serious concern for all telecommunications companies having many roaming contracts. The ability to reduce the fraud level and to use better tools of interaction with roaming partners is undoubtedly attractive to telecommunications businesses as it allows them to increase the profitability of the roaming service.
In view of this, the GSM Association has issued recommendations aimed to help telcos resolve these issues. According to GSMA decision, the NRTRDE implementation has become obligatory for all GSMA members.
NRTRDE (Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange) - a modern tool to help mobile phone operators to reduce losses caused by fraudulent behavior in roaming.
NRTRDE, as compared to the previous technology HUR (High Usage Report), speeds up roaming activity reporting, requiring operators to send roaming data to partners with a less than 4 hours delay. The GSMA recommendation is 5-15 minutes. The sent data shall include key information on the roaming call. Timely received data can be timely analyzed by roaming partners to detect and suppress fraud.
The CBOSS solution built on the NRTRDE technology enables telcos to fulfill the GSMA recommendations and minimize losses associated with roaming fraud. CBOSSnrtrde includes a full range of options for end-to-end automation of interaction with roaming partners.

Signing the contract for supply of the new roaming subsystem paves the way for the operator to meet the above challenges.
