Cargo transportation drops 11.5% in Azerbaijan section of TRACECA

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. 13.9 million tons of cargo and 65 million people were carried through Azerbaijan part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) during January-April.

Cargo transport dropped by 11.5% while passenger traffic jumped by 6.3% on year-on-year basis.

Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that 45% of shipments were transported by rail, 37.5% by road and 17.5% by sea.

Shipments via the corridor accounted for 24.2% of the total transportation in the country.
