Caspian Air Cargo Summit 2009 kicks off in Baku

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. The Caspian Air Cargo Summit 2009 has kicked off, bringing together international air cargo market leaders.

As the largest and most comprehensive aviation event in the region, the summit provides an ideal one-stop platform to find out more about the latest developments in CIS/Central Asia and its growing significance in the global aviation industry.

Lars-Gunnar Comén, direction of Sweden’s Euroavia International, said at the summit that the importance of the event is great given that it brings together air cargo leaders amid the global economic crisis.

Arif Mammadov, Director of Azerbaijan State Civil Aviation Administration, described his country’s geographical location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

He also underlined the significance of the fact that the Caspian Air Cargo Summit is the third namesake summit in Baku.

He also talked about Azerbaijan Airlines’ (AzAL) renewing its fleet and capacity building.

The two-day summit will be wrapped up on June 10.
