Iran will become TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission permanent member

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. From June, Iran will become a permanent member of the TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission, said TRACECA Permanent Secretariat.
With Iran, the number of permanent members will reach 13.

The Secretariat said Iran’s membership will be official declared at a TRACECA conference in Kyrgyzstan on June 15.

The Government of Iran has submitted the ratified copy of membership decision to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the procedure, the applicant gets a full membership a month after submission of ratified document.

Iran applied for membership at a TRACECA conference in Baku in 2005.

Based in Baku, TRACECA Intergovernmental Commission was established in 1998. Its members include 12 states in Europe and Asia.
