Baku – APA. IMEI-code database was created in Azerbaijan for prevention of phone smuggling and theft. The data base will end the illegal import and use of false and unhealthy phones, APA reports.
IMEI-code data base is used in many European countries, as well as in Turkey and Ukraine. IMEI-code database in Azerbaijan will include the codes of phones used currently in the country and imported by the official distributors to the country. It will cut the opportunity to use smuggled, thieved and unregistered mobile phones because no mobile operator will serve them in Azerbaijan.
