Azerbaijan reports 14% drop in cargo transit

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-ECONOMICS. Cargo traffic reached 9 456 400 tons in Azerbaijan during January-March, up 2.1 times on the same period last year.
Azerbaijan State Customs Committee said exports were 7 831 000 tons and imports 1 625 400 tons.
Exports were mainly carried by sea (78 900 tons), rail (773 900), road (85 400), air (700) and pipeline (6 890 400) and imports were delivered by sea (30 900 tons), rail (1 263 900), road (313 700) and air (5 700).
1 456 200 tons of transit cargo were transported via Azerbaijan to Switzerland (641 200), Italy (174 300), Bermudas (168 100), Georgia (127 800), Turkmenistan (120 800), Tajikistan (57 600), Iran (55 900), Russia (47 100) and Turkey (29 600).
Cargo transit dropped by 14.43% or 245 500 tons on the year-on-year basis.
