Transportation by rail declines by 27% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. 4.7 million tons of cargo was transported by rail in Azerbaijan during January-March, a 26.5% decline on the same period last year.
The decline in rail transportation is attributed to a decrease in crude oil transport by rail.
The State Statistical Committee said that wagon loading a day fell by 30.2% and unloading decreased by 27.4% over this period.
Wagon loading a day for northbound routes fell by 24.9%, for westbound routes decreased by 37.5% and for southbound routes dropped by 60.2%.
