Prosecutor’s Office explains initiation of separate proceedings over Azerbaijani footballer’s case

The prosecutor’s office told APA there are untrue media reports that the launching of separate proceedings over the case of Javid Huseynov being convicted under articles 307.1 (not informing about known preparing or committed minor serious or serious crimes) and 307.2 (obviously not promised concealment of minor serious crimes) from the materials of the criminal case on articles 126.3 (the acts, which is provided by articles 126.1 and 126.2 of the present Code, on imprudence entailed to death of a victim) and 177.1 (theft that is secret plunders of another persons property) launched after reporter Rasim Aliyev was beaten to death by Elshan Ismayilov and others in the Bayil settlement of Baku is intended to help the footballer evade form responsibility and that the victim’s heir and representative have not been informed of this.

“We strongly condemn these claims and announce that the separate proceedings launched on Javid Huseynov being convicted under articles 307.1 and 307.2 were done in compliance with the law and under special control of the Prosecutor General’s Office and the victim’s legal heir and representative have been repeatedly invited to the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office where their rights and duties were mentioned to them,” said the statement.

Note that, the criminal cases on Ismayilov and others being convicted under articles 126.3 and 177.1 and on Huseynov being convicted under articles 307.1 and 307.2 were sent to court for completion on 22 December 2015 and on 11 January 2016, respectively.
