The court issued the verdict as Deputy Director of “Zarya” OJSC Gulhuseyn Najafov’s term of imprisonment expired on November 11, RIA Novosti reported.
The Kazan district court held the hearing in the detainee’s absence due to his treatment in hospital. After receiving required medical certificates of his health condition, the court will issue a verdict on whether to release him or not. The businessman’s relatives and attorney say Najafov feels unwell and is in need of cardiologic and psychological aid, which is not provided to him in the hospital for prisoners.
Note that, a fire occurred in “Admiral”, one of the largest malls in Kazan, on March 11, covering an area of 4,000 square meters. 17 people died and 70 injured in the accident. And the fate of two other persons is still unknown.
14 people have been arrested over the accident.
