He noted that the Interior Ministry and the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office have recorded 11,753 crimes, of which 81% were less grave and unlikely to pose huge public threat and 18.5% grave and especially grave. Compared to 2014, deliberate murders have decreased by 16.5% and acts of deliberate bodily harm by 19%.
It became possible to solve 75.2% of the crimes, 76.7% of the grave types, and 62.7% of those committed under uncertain conditions. 94% of the 1,817 crimes aimed against personality, 98.7% of the deliberate murders, and 96.7% of the attempts to commit deliberate murder were disclosed.
Compared to the past period, there was 3.5% progress in solving general crimes, 1.8% in solving their grave and especially grave types of crimes, 2.1% in solving those aimed against personality, 7.4% in solving deliberate murders, 6.6% in solvning those aimed against property, 7% in solving the hijacking of vehicles, and 2.5% in solving fatal traffic accidents.
The use of modern information technology was of great importance in preventing and solving crimes. Operators of "Safe City Service" of the Main Department and district police agencies detected 2,661 cases and 274 criminal cases were launched in the use of archival recordings from surveillance cameras.
72.4% of wanted suspects and 60% of the persons wanted over grave crimes was arrested.
More than 255 kg of drugs were seized in 1,254 cases.
During the reporting period, 54 firearms, 11 grenades, 3,139 cartridges, as well as 31illegally stored firearms were seized.
Payment of 83.7% of financial damage to the citizens was ensured over the cases investigated by the investigating agencies of police offices in Baku in 2015.
