The ministry told APA that the heavy rains recently fallen in Jalilabad, Masalli and Lankaran districts caused some consequences. Thus, the water level in some rivers in this region rose and flooded in sunken areas, some houses and fields.
38 warrant officers, 76 servicemen and 13 appliances of the Civil Defense Troops and, 21 personnel and 3 appliances, of the Special Risk Rescue Service, 15 personnel, 6 boats of the State Water Rescue Service, 20 personnel and 1 appliance of the State Fire Rescue Service of the ministry were immediately involved in the scene, an operational headquarter was created in Jalilabad district, and the senior staff was sent to the region. As a result of the operational measures, residents of 68 houses in Masalli’s Tekle village, 2 families (6 people) in Syobli village, and 1 family (3 people) in Lankaran’s Goyshaban village were evacuated.
Extra channels were opened in order to adjust the flow of water in Goytepe reservoir and eliminate the danger. Water level went down, rainfall decreased and there is no danger.
Plumbing and other urgent work are underway.
