The hearing presided over judge Alisultan Osmanov was held behind closed doors.
Lawyer Fuad Aghayev delivered a speech at the hearing, asking to acquit his client Rauf Mirgadirov.
Then Mirgadirov asked the court to give him time to prepare for his final plea.
The hearing will be continued on December 25.
At the last hearing, a state prosecutor in his speech demanded seven years of imprisonment for Mirgadirov.
Mirgadirov was detained in Turkey on 19 April 2014 and handed over to Azerbaijan, where he was charged with treason (Article 274). He was jailed for three months. The term of his pretrial detention has been extended for several times since.
