Dead body of another missing Azerbaijani oil worker recovered

Baku – APA. Dead body of one of the oil workers who went missing as a result of the accident at Azerbaijan’s Gunashli offshore field has been recovered on the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

The dead body of the oil worker was discovered by “Berkar” ship at a distance of 60 km from the coast of Turkmenistan as a result of the rescue and search operations carried out after the appeal of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations to the relevant ministries of Caspian Sea countries.

Turkmen nearby ship “BAYAN” was immediately informed, and then the dead body was taken to Turkmenbashi sea port.

Immediately after receiving the information, an amphibian aircraft “BE-200ÇS” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent to the scene to bring the body to Azerbaijan.

As many as 7 people were killed and 29 went missing as a result of the accident on the platform #10 at SOCAR’s Gunashli offshore field on Dec.4. Earlier, the dead bodies of the six missing oil workers were found as a result of the rescue and search operations. Search is underway for other missing oil workers.
