Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. The state of 14-year-old Azerbaijan, who was brutally beaten by a Russian nationalist in Zelenograd, Moscow, is satisfactory.

Aygun Kazimova, a mother of Rovshan Kazimov, told APA’s Moscow correspondent that Rovshan is currently under the control of doctor.

Kazimova revealed the details of the incident on November 1: “A young Russian insulted my son Rovshan while he returned home from school on the bus #12. The young boy used racist expressions and called him a representative of “black” nation.  First, Rovshan did not respond to him. But then, when my son reacted to him, the Russian guy began beating Rovshan. He punched and kicked in the head and body of my son. Bus passengers remained indifferent in this dispute. Only a woman named Tatiana Agofonova interfered in the dispute. First, Rovshan was taken to a hospital in Zelenograd, then to Morozovsky hospital. He was diagnosed with traumatic brain injury and eye damage.”

Kazimova also said that her son had already been questioned by police: “Yesterday morning, the police took my son's testimony. Rovshan told everything in detail. After the incident, I spoke with the police. The police said they had already detained the person who beat Rovshan, but he would not be arrested, because the law prohibited acting so. We were told that necessary measures will be taken in this regard. According to information that we have, the person, who brutally beat my son, is at liberty.”

Kazimova said that it was the second such incident that happened to his son. So, in 2006, her son was hit by a car as he tried to cross the road on the green traffic light. Consequently, Kazimov partially lost his sight and became disabled. The driver, who made Rovsan disabled, has not been brought to justice. Kazimov said they didn’t complain, because the police threatened them: “I was told that if I complain, they will deport me and give my son to boarding school. I had to agree. I sold my one-roomed flat in Ganja and treated my son. And now, it has happened to us.”

Kazimov was said that the employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia had met with his son and they are interested in this issue.

One of the witnesses of the incident Tatiana Agofonova spoke about the details of the incident to APA: “A teenager got on a bus #12 near the school for the blind while I was returning home from work in the evening. It was seen that he had a disability. He was neat and polite in appearance. After a few stops, I heard swearing. It was a male voice. He was abusing someone by using offensive words. A woman asked that boy why he is acting in this way. He said: “He is “black”, it is not your affair. I also objected to that boy. The boy began kicking him. I asked the driver to stop the bus. Fortunately, the driver stopped the bus where police were on patrol. I was waiting at the scene. I witnessed that the boy beating the teenager tried to deal with the police. He approached me and said: “You don’t know and didn’t see me. The teenager started the conflict. I am not guilty.” However, I refused it. I am ashamed for such a Russian. I want to say that the boy who beat the teenager was sober.”

“I got on the bus. He abused me. He told me that you are “black”. “Black,” go and sell your tomatoes. I said that I’m not black, but became sunburnt. He slapped me in the face. I pushed him away. He began to beat me and I grasped him. The driver approached us and said to stop fighting. He punched me in the eye,” said Rovshan Kazimov staying at the eye surgery department of Morozovsky hospital. He said his state is normal.

Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia issued a statement on the incident. The embassy is following the process regarding the incident.
