A trial has been held in the criminal case of Oleg Krapivin, a Ukrainian millionaire who was arrested in Azerbaijan on charges of hooliganism, known in the criminal world as "Oleg Bakinsky", and Konstantin Kucher, APA reports.
Defense lawyers spoke at the trial held today at the Baku Grave Crimes Court, chaired by Judge Elnur Nuriyev.
Konstantin Kucher's lawyer, Elshad Hajiyev, said in his speech that he requested acquittal for his client.
Later, Oleg Bakinsky's lawyer, Kheyranse Babayeva, spoke and stated that the charges were groundless. She also requested acquittal for her client.
Oleg Bakinski gave his final statement. He said that he did not commit the act he was accused of: "My final statement is that I did not commit this act. They slandered me. The witnesses confirmed this. I ask you to acquit me."
Konstantin Kucher asked for time to make his final statement.
The trial was postponed to July 25.
Recall that public prosecutor Tural Yagubov requested that Konstantin Kucher be sentenced to 14 years in prison and Oleg Krapivin to 3 years.
Note that "Oleg Bakinsky" was detained by the police in Baku last year on charges of hooliganism against a Russian citizen. He was charged with a final charge under Articles 127.2.3 (Intentional infliction of less serious harm to health, committed in a generally dangerous manner or with hooligan intent) and 221.3 (Hooliganism committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons, accompanied by the use of force against the victim, or the destruction or damage of another person’s property) of the Criminal Code. The preventive measure of arrest chosen for him during the preliminary investigation was replaced with a preventive measure of house arrest during the trial.
Along with Oleg Bakinsky, Konstantin Antonovich Kucher, who served as Deputy Minister of Defense Industry of Ukraine for Aviation Affairs in 2010-2011, is also found guilty in the criminal case. He is charged under Articles 178.4 (fraud, especially when committed with causing large-scale damage) and 221.3 (hooliganism, committed with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons, accompanied by the use of force against the victim, or the destruction or damage of another person's property) of the Criminal Code.
The victims are "Aviazapchast" OJSC, "Promyshlennye Postavki Kazakhstan" LLC, and Zakharenkov Valery Nikolayevich.
