A major fire broke out in a private residential house in the Masazır settlement of the Absheron district, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Press Service told APA.
The fire destroyed the wooden structures of a two-story private house with each floor measuring 40 m², as well as the roof of an adjacent two-story house covering an area of 40 m².
Firefighting equipment and personnel of the Ministry were immediately dispatched to the scene. The blaze was quickly contained and prevented from spreading to nearby houses.
During search operations at the site, the bodies of two people were discovered and handed over to the relevant authorities.
The Ministry also reported that both floors of the second house and other adjacent buildings were protected from the fire.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
