Sevinj Babayevaâ€™s son Aykhan Mammadov summoned for interrogation

Mammadov noted that he was at Baku City Prosecutor’s Office a few days ago at the invitation of the investigative group. He was informed about the current stage of the criminal case, investigation of his mother’s death and other issues: “I was told that at present the investigation is being continued and measures are being taken on certain details. Moreover, I was also told that everything will be investigated thoroughly. It will be clear at whose proposal my mother went to Turkey, with whom she met there and the role that Gular Ahmadova and her relatives played in this process.”

Sevinj Babayeva, who was declared wanted under Criminal Code article 178.3.2 launched by Baku City Prosecutor’s Office, died at the Medicana International Istanbul Hospital. According to preliminary information, Babayeva was admitted to the hospital under another name and surname (Maryam Solmaz) and died from heart failure. Azerbaijani General Prosecutor appealed to the Turkish Justice Ministry through the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry and raised the issue on the participation of the Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies in examination process and for this reason, the employees of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor’s Office and Interior Ministry were sent to the Republic of Turkey.
