One more Azerbaijani killed in Syria clashes

APA reports quoting “Free Syrian Information Agency”, an Azerbaijani aka Abu Zubeyr was killed in fights in Idlib city.

Though it has been announced that he is Azerbaijani, his name and surname have not been publicized.

The photo of his body has been made public.

It was reported that about 30 Azerbaijanis have been killed in Syria clashes. Some photos have been posted on the websites owned by Turkish mujahideen.

Spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Adbullayev told APA that the Azerbaijani side will make efforts to determine the nationality of the Syria-killed persons alleged to be Azerbaijani citizens.

According to the spokesman, due to the situation in Syria, it is difficult to identify the nationality and citizenship of people killed in Syria: “It has not been officially determined whether these persons are Azerbaijani or not. Despite the tense situation in the country, Azerbaijan will make efforts to identify their citizenship.”
