Mammad Imanli’s criminal case sent to court

The criminal case materials has been sent to Baku Court on Grave Crimes and Criminal case will be heard by judge Alovsat Abbasov. The time for the preparation sitting of the court hearing will be defined in these days. 

Anti-Corruption Department under General Prosecutor’s Office released a statement that the former deputy dean of faculty of law of the Baku State University, doctor of law, professor Mahammad Imanli was detained while taking in a great amount of bribes.

According to information, the appeal of resident of Baku city, which was entered to the “161 hotline” of the Anti-Corruption Department under General Prosecutor’s Office, about the illegal actions of teacher of the department of “Criminal law and criminology” , Doctor of Law, Professor Imanli Mahammad Naghi was investigated.

 

It was determined that Mahammad Imanli demanded AZN 40.000 from the resident of Baku city for the second education in the department of the International Economic Relations of the Baku State University and he was detained while taking in a great amount of bribes in his house at the Pushkins’s street in Zabrat settlement of Baku city on May 5, 2012. During the investigation in the house of Imanli, AZN 40.000 taking from the resident of Baku, as well as USD 79.300 in the various bank-notes, AZN 61.260, Euros 13.020 and the copy of diploma and the other documents were found and seized. Criminal case has been launched about Mahammad Imanli into the fact under the Criminal Code Article 311.3.3 (taking in a great amount of bribes). Imanli was sentenced to the pretrial detention by the order of court. Imanli worked as a teacher in the department of the “Criminal law and criminology” in 1993, as an assistant professor, as well as the first deputy dean of faculty of law in 2004-2011.
