Kemaleddin Heydarov: â€œCommissions will continue their activities in the region until the elimination of the consequences of the earthquakeâ€

K. Heydarov noted that some of people have unfair grievances: "Immediately after the earthquake, which occurred on May 7 last year, President Ilham Aliyev paid a visit to the quake region. After getting acquainted with the situation in the earthquake zone the President signed a series of orders and then the appropriate commission began its work in the quake zone. After the committee completed the initial work had been drafted. After that, was the start of construction of new homes and community facilities instead of emergency. These processes still continue. But after last year's earthquake in the region occurred in October, new shocks, and after the increased in the number of damaged houses and community facilities."

The Minister said that the commissions in the earthquake zone are working on a permanent basis, "These commissions will continue their activities in the region until the elimination of the consequences of the earthquake. Among the population have some resentment. For example, today I was told that one man 8 times applied to inspect his home. Commission 8 times visited his home and each time made the same decision. I understand these people. I understand that their neighbors built a new house, and their houses are old and they also want their houses to be new, as well as the neighbors. They need to know that if their home is not in a dangerous condition, the demolition of these houses clearly impossible. If there is a need for certain restorative and protective works, we pay compensation for the repair of the owners of these homes. Once again they have to understand that it all happened as a result of a natural disaster anywhere in the world and the state does not provide assistance to uninsured homes in a disaster. But Azerbaijan state allocated funds to address the consequences of the earthquake in 2012 in the north-western region, as well as for victims of the floods in 2010. This is a very important decision of President Ilham Aliyev that it adopted considering the social situation of the population. We are engaged in the execution of this decision."
