APA reports quoting Izrus website that 46-year-old Israeli citizen was declared wanted on March 28, 2013. He faced charges over illegal business activity and tax evasion.
After Erik Farajov was detained at Tbilisi international airport, the Georgian side received an arrest warrant from Interpol National Central Bureau for Azerbaijan. Basing on this document, Erik Farajov will be held in pre-extradition custody.
Spokesman for Georgian Interior Ministry Nino Giorgobiani said that documents on extradition are to be sent from Baku. Only after that the court hearing will be scheduled.
Erik Farajov was detained while getting on the plane from Tbilisi to Israel, 10 days after having been declared wanted.
