Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. Baku Court of Appeal has considered the appeal filed against judgment on extending prison term of deputy chairman of Musavat Party Tofig Yagublu.
Lawyer Akif Alizadeh told APA that the judgment was passed at the hearing. According to the judgment, the appeal has been rejected.
Nasimi District Court has considered a petition submitted by an investigative body to extend the term of sentence of imprisoned deputy chairman of Musavat Party Tofig Yagublu. Tofig Yagublu’s term of sentence was extended by 3 months. An appeal was filed against this judgment.
Musavat Party deputy chairman Tofig Yagublu and chairman of “REAL” movement Ilgar Mammadov faced charges under articles 233 (organizing or actively participating in the actions causing violation of public order) and 315.2 (using force or resisting to the government representative) of the Criminal Code. They are accused of violating public order and instigating the citizens to conflicts during Ismayilli incidents on January 23 and 24. They were sentenced to two months in prison.
