Foreigners imprisoned in Azerbaijan to be able to use Skype

In accordance with this, additional article to the Code of Execution of Punishments and Law on ensuring rights and freedoms of imprisoned persons can be put up for discussion at the parliament.

According to new draft law, only the foreign nationals imrpsioned in Azerbaijan, will be allowed to keep in touch with their friends and family members living in their countries within the certain period and under appropriate control. These opportunities will be given to prisoners with certain limit set for each month. The prisoners will be able to use Skype for a number of e-correspondences. They are given such advantages due to absence of live meeting with relatives. The draft is expected to be submitted to the Parliament in the near future.

The current legislation of Azerbaijan prohibits Internet access in jails.
