APA reports quoting the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that 12 cases of explosions were recorded in Azerbaijan in the first three months of 2013, this is up by 5 cases or 71% compared to the relevant period of last year. 2 persons died and 12 were injured as a result of the explosions.
1439 visits were made on various calls in the first quarter of 2013. 21 people died and 23 were injured as a result of fires. Compared to the relevant period of last year, the number of the dead decreased by 5 persons or 19% and the number of injuries by 7 persons or 23%.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 1505 natural and man-made disasters happened in the republic this year. This is down by 162 or 10% compared to 2012. 26 died, 37 were injured, 3 rescued and 31 evacuated as a result of the natural and man-made disasters.
