A court hearing has been held regarding the appeal against the verdict issued for Yusif Aliyev, who is accused by the State Security Service (SSS) of financing international terrorism, APA reports.
During the session held at the Baku Court of Appeal under the chairmanship of Judge Anar Ibrahimov, a decision was announced. According to the ruling, the verdict of the first instance court was upheld.
Recall that Yusif Aliyev was sentenced to 13 years in prison by the Baku Court on Grave Crimes.
Note that Yusif Sultan Aliyev was detained in a criminal case conducted by the State Security Service.
The indictment against Yusif Aliyev states that he transferred the funds he collected by creating various closed groups on the social networks "Telegram" and "WhatsApp" to foreign countries for the purpose of financing an international terrorist organization. In addition, his other criminal acts related to religious radicalism and religious fanaticism were identified and brought to criminal responsibility.
In the criminal case, Yusif Aliyev is charged under Articles 214-1 (financing terrorism), 167-3.1 (preparation, storage or dissemination of religious extremist materials), and 283.1-1 (incitement of national, racial, social or religious hatred and enmity) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
