In August, measures to combat the illicit circulation of narcotics in Azerbaijan resulted in the seizure of 314 kilograms and 238 grams of narcotic substances, as well as 7,248 pills considered potent narcotic drugs, APA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service.
It was noted that in various border-adjacent areas, 1,200 kilograms of wild cannabis plants were discovered and destroyed.
Anti-smuggling operations led to the confiscation of contraband valued at a total of 4,570,688 manat, including U.S. currency, a U.S.-made pistol with a magazine, medicines, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products.
